 STARS - U11 RED TEAM WINS 2 GAMES OVER WEEKEND

The Clarkstown Stars U11 swept a doubleheader this past weekend. In the first game, the Stars beat Piermont 6-3 behind the pitching effort of Joe Dillon and Owen Lorenz. Salvatore Barbetto scored three runs and had three stolen bases while Owen Lorenz paced the Stars with 2 RBI's. In the second game of the doubleheader, William Callahan pitched a no-hitter striking out 13 batters in the Stars 2-1 victory over Tenafly. Tommy Lucido went 2 for 2 with two doubles in the Stars victory.
 
 
 
 STARS - U10 WHITE TEAM WIN WEEKEND GAMES

Clarkstown Stars White 10u traveled to Wyckoff, NJ on Mother's Day and beat the Wyckoff Raiders 6-0 via the pitching of Kevin Leibmann. Leibmann tossed a 2-hit shutout, on just 66 pitches, en route to his 6-inning complete game. Leadoff hitter Jason Dana led the offense with 3 hits and 3 runs scored.
The previous night, the Stars tallied a 13-3 victory over the Teaneck Titans in Teaneck, NJ. All 10 players scored for Clarkstown, led by Leibmann's 3 for 3 day at the plate. Matt DeBlasio, Zack Riccardi, and Leibmann each scored twice. Mike Matera and Adam Gloskin pitched well for the victory.
 
 
 
 Pee Wee Reece 12U team opens AABC Summer season

The Stars Pee Wee Reece 12 U team started off the AABC Summer season with a win. The Stars were led by Alex Conti going 3 for 3 with 4 RBI's for the Stars. Paul Jorgensen and Anthony Morris had 2 hits apiece for the Stars. Brandon Bacalles was the winning pitcher for the team. Anthony Morris got the save. Michael Gillespie was the defensive standout for the Stars, with many assists.
The Stars team did an excellent job hitting, fielding and pitching Coach Frank said. With the boy's dedication to the team they will be a force to be reckoned with.

 Dominican Republic Trip

Three 15 year old Stars players (Joe Solicito, Mike Ciafardini and Thomas Colaprico) just came back from the Dominican Republic after participating in a good will project Feb 1-4. 

The boys represented our organization, traveling to the Dominican Republic, with players from the Ridgewood team in NJ.

 Clarkstown Stars Pee Wee Reece 12s - PREMIER Tournament for 2008

Our Clarkstown Stars, Pee Wee Reece 12's Will Be Competing for a National Title in Cooperstown, NY in August 2008. This will be our third year sending another quality team.

The Clarkstown Stars have been selected to play in the prestigious Cooperstown Dreams Park and American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Invitational Tournament, during the week of Aug 27 in the magical Mythical Home of Baseball….. Cooperstown, NY. In addition to competing against top travel/select teams from around the country, members of the Clarkstown Stars will be enshrined in the prestigious American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame.

Eric Jorgensen, commissioner of Clarkstown Stars Junior division states; “There is not a better baseball tournament for our players to experience and create memories to last a lifetime. Every member of our Stars - Pee Wee Reece-12's will look forward to playing in this high caliber tournament. The trip to Cooperstown is a tremendous way to culminate playing with the Stars Junior division. By stepping up to the plate, regardless of outcome, players will leave with a sense of pride, and accomplishment for having participated in the this prestigious tournament”.

Teams will stay in the Baseball Village clubhouse with 96 other teams, eating, sleeping and playing baseball for 7 days, 6 nights against the top competition in the country. Each team is guaranteed at least 8 games and concludes the week with a single elimination tournament. Dreams Park has 22 professionally groomed lighted fields enclosed by eight-foot-high stadium walls. Some of the very best teams and players are among the 96 teams. This past years team that went was led by manager Mike Kolesar and Coaches Ryan McGee, John Rocco, Stu Schwartz & Rich Ticknor. The Clarkstown players are from New City, West Nyack, Congers and Nanuet.
